Director of Operations, Europe (Fintech)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; strong physical presence is the default working mode.

hirify.global is a regulated payments automation platform providing embedded payment services for SMEs and enterprises across the UK and Europe.

What you will do

• Hold formal Board responsibility for operations, outsourcing, incident management, corporate culture and people operations, and operational resilience.
• Lead approximately 20 Amsterdam-based employees and manage the Amsterdam office and branches in France, Spain and Ireland.
• Oversee outsourced and intra-group arrangements across IT, operations, finance, product, sales and marketing, including documentation, risk assessment, SLAs and regulatory notifications.
• Own daily safeguarding reconciliation, approvals, reporting and fund segregation under applicable Dutch and EU payment regulations.
• Represent MFBV to DNB and drive governance, audit follow-up, structured decision-making and accountability.
• Lead incident management and resilience activities covering DORA, business continuity, disaster recovery, ICT governance, cybersecurity and GDPR.

Requirements

• Senior operations leadership experience in payments, fintech, EMI, PSP or regulated financial services.
• Experience managing third-party and intra-group outsourcing and providers across operations, IT and product.
• Management Board experience in a regulated entity and a track record of engagement with DNB, FCA, CBI, ACPR or equivalent regulators.
• Experience managing multi-site European branches in an international matrix or shared-service structure.
• Experience with operational resilience, business continuity, incident management, process improvement, automation and AI adoption.
• Strong leadership, governance, communication and people-management skills, including building inclusive, high-performing teams.

Nice to have

• Embedded payments or B2B fintech experience.
• Dutch language skills at professional proficiency.
• Multi-jurisdiction European regulatory change experience.
• Knowledge of safeguarding regulations, DORA, first-line compliance frameworks and Dutch two-tier Board governance.
