Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/Merchandising)

Location: Europe-focused role with travel and on-site work at customer locations during parts of engagements. Applicants must hold a valid work permit for the country where they reside or will work.

What you will do

• Own technical delivery from discovery and configuration through integrations, extensions, quality assurance, and go-live.
• Write production code and build production models for live customer environments.
• Measure deployment outcomes against customer baselines and present evidence to operational users and executives.
• Build technical customer relationships, understand retail operations, and identify new use cases and product gaps.
• Prototype solutions that can inform the product roadmap and create customer self-sufficiency through knowledge transfer.
• Support pre-sales through feasibility assessments, proofs of concept, technical demonstrations, and value-case development.

Requirements

• Production experience designing and building software across the full stack.
• Strong understanding of system design, observability, hypothesis-driven development, and customer-facing integrations.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application stacks.
• Ability to translate technical work into measurable financial impact and communicate with non-technical audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity, ownership of outcomes, rapid domain and codebase learning, and customer-site travel.
• Fluent written and spoken English and a valid work permit for the country of residence or work are required.
