Associate Director, Prospect Research & Management

Location: Remote for candidates located in the United States or United Kingdom. The recruitment process includes a second-round panel interview in person at the London office. UK-based candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Compensation: £65,000 per year in the UK; $110,000–$117,000 per year in the US.

What you will do

• Lead the Prospect Research & Management team and manage its personnel and non-personnel budget.
• Co-develop annual and long-term prospect research strategy with senior fundraising leadership.
• Oversee confidential biographical, financial, and due diligence research on high-net-worth individuals and prospects.
• Translate fundraising priorities into research plans, pipeline development, strategic reports, and decision-making insights.
• Develop research methodologies, procure and improve tools, and oversee CRM, subscription databases, and media resources.
• Manage four direct reports, mentor colleagues, promote inclusion, and coordinate with philanthropy, analytics, finance, strategy, and business systems teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Expert research and database management skills, preferably including Salesforce and relational databases.
• Experience with prospect research tools and data services such as LexisNexis, iWave, and Foundation Directory.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, business intelligence, and nonprofit fundraising strategy experience across multiple markets.
• Ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving, develop protocols, improve methodologies, and translate complex data into strategic insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, prioritization, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of philanthropic trends, humanitarian aid, strategic philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, public-private partnerships, and impact investing.
• Experience working for a large international organization across multiple markets and leadership-level stakeholder groups.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
