Data Scientist/Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland, US; must work onsite at the customer site 5 days / 40 hours per week and travel up to 40% CONUS and OCONUS.

Salary: $144,501–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct cyber threat hunts on assigned Big Data Platforms and support customer hunting operations.
• Analyze data feeds, cyber defense resources, vulnerabilities, network traffic, and emerging threats.
• Apply statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and operational research to uncover patterns.
• Create queries, dashboards, visualizations, and customer-facing data products.
• Collect customer requirements, define use cases, document data feeds, and advise on data enrichment.
• Present findings, demonstrate platform capabilities, train users, and provide real-time customer support.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship are required.
• 9+ years of related cybersecurity operations experience with a bachelor's degree, 7 years with a master's degree, or 13 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with SQL, KQL, Python, data visualizations, dashboards, and cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of cyber hunt methodologies, SIEM and SOAR platforms, threat detection signatures, network traffic analysis, MITRE ATT&CK, and incident response.
• Experience presenting technical analysis, supporting training events, writing documentation, and collaborating with customers.
• Must be able to work onsite in Fort Meade five days per week and travel up to 40% of the time.

Nice to have

• Data+, Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GNFA, GCFA, or another recognized cybersecurity certification.
• Department of War SOC experience.
• Experience with Big Data Platforms or data lake architectures.
• Experience using Jupyter notebooks.
