Data Scientist (GEOINT)

Location: Onsite at the customer office in Springfield, VA; must be a US citizen and eligible for an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI and CI Poly eligibility.

Salary: $155,000–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement end-to-end data science architectures for multi-INT data streams and large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
• Build production-grade Python pipelines that transform terabytes of data into mission-critical intelligence products.
• Research, prototype, and deploy machine learning, network analytics, advanced statistical, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics solutions.
• Create interactive visualizations, dashboards, and analytic interfaces that help analysts explore datasets and identify patterns and relationships.
• Partner with customer stakeholders to translate intelligence questions into technical requirements and operational solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, lead technical teams, mentor data scientists, and shape capability roadmaps.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI and CI Poly eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Math, Finance, Statistics, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent field, or a combination of 10+ years of military experience, training, or certifications.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Experience supporting Intelligence Community missions in operational environments, conducting multi-INT research and analysis, and understanding intelligence analysis workflows.
• Senior-level Python proficiency for data science, automation, analytics pipeline development, and mission-ready solutions.
• Experience querying and integrating web APIs; developing visualizations with Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools; and building dashboards with Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Git-based version control, large-scale structured and unstructured data architectures, complex databases, SQL, relational databases, and COTS/GOTS capabilities including Tableau, MATLAB, and MapLarge.
• Proficiency with GDAL or ArcPy and GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
• Experience with ABI tradecraft and producing finished products that meet NGA and DNI standards.
• Ability to document software systems and automated workflows, identify capability gaps, architect solutions, operate independently with limited oversight, lead technical teams, mentor data scientists, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with USSOCOM, broader US military organizational structures, and common Intelligence Community data repositories.

Nice to have

• AI/ML development experience with production model deployment.
• Geospatial programming expertise with GeoPandas, ArcPy, ArcObjects, and GIScience techniques.
• Full-stack development experience with JavaScript/HTML5, .NET, C++, or Java.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, geodatabases, or ArcSDE.
• Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, or ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Experience building GEOINT, SIGINT, or OSINT databases for operational analysis.
