Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Melbourne, Australia. Australian citizenship is mandatory, and candidates must be able to obtain or currently hold an Australian Federal Government Security Clearance at NV1 and a current National Police Clearance. The work model prioritizes in-person collaboration while offering flexibility.

What you will do

• Facilitate the onboarding, management, and troubleshooting of managed cybersecurity services.
• Assist with high-priority infrastructure and security incidents.
• Maintain security policies, configurations, and compliance in line with industry best practices.
• Perform daily operational tasks to meet managed-service SLAs and identify opportunities to automate repetitive administration.
• Implement tasks required to fulfil project requirements and liaise with vendors for advanced technical support.
• Monitor security technologies, trends, and emerging AI-driven security tools.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT/OT security operations for medium or large enterprises.
• Experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting Fortinet NGFW and Netskope SASE/SSE technologies.
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience handling high-priority incident response.
• Understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, application-level troubleshooting, and analysis.
• Australian citizenship, current National Police Clearance, and Australian Federal Government Security Clearance at NV1 or the ability to obtain it.

Nice to have

• Fortinet NSE and/or Netskope Accreditation certifications.
• Python or PowerShell scripting skills.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• RESTful API integration for firewall rule provisioning, policy management, and reporting.
• Experience using AI for scripting, threat intelligence, or SIEM analytics.
