Senior Process Engineer (Injection Molding)

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and optimize precision injection molding processes for efficiency, quality, and cycle-time performance.
• Troubleshoot molding defects, tooling issues, and process variation using root cause analysis, scientific molding, and Design of Experiments.
• Lead tool qualifications, production trials, process development, and new equipment installation and qualification.
• Collaborate with tooling engineers, maintenance, production, and vendors to improve mold performance and support mold design reviews and DFM evaluations.
• Standardize process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, and process sheets.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, cycle-time reduction, automation, and production capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in injection molding process development, tooling, and manufacturing, including tight-tolerance precision molding.
• Strong knowledge of polymer materials, mold construction, processing parameters, and engineering-grade resins such as PEI, PBT, and PC/ABS.
• Expertise in scientific molding, mold flow analysis, process validation, and troubleshooting defects including flash, short shots, burns, warpage, and splay.
• Hands-on experience with injection molding machines, robotics, and automation systems, plus familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Temporary visa holders and candidates requiring current or future sponsorship are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Formal Master Molder or similar training from RJG, AIM, or a comparable organization.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
