Principal AI Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States of America; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Build tooling and automation to manage large-scale hybrid cloud infrastructure and improve efficiency and performance.
• Design, build, and operate reliable and secure cloud infrastructure across public cloud environments.
• Develop tools and automation frameworks for robust deployment of production services.
• Ensure applications are production-ready, scalable, and reliable.
• Orchestrate end-to-end monitoring and alerting and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Lead root cause analysis of critical business and production issues, participate in design reviews, and mentor teams on DevOps culture.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, equivalent professional experience, or equivalent military experience.
• Expertise in configuration management with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, or Kustomize.
• Expertise managing distributed and autoscaled applications in Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience in Production Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability.
• Expertise with public cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, or OCI.
• Strong Linux administration, Linux internals, and network troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, or Rust for developing applications and tooling to manage advanced data systems and automate complex tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines; GitLab and GitHub experience is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling high-volume transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and rally support.
• Self-discipline, self-management, motivation, ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Passion for infrastructure and monitoring as code and ability to quickly understand and dissect new technology stacks.
