Experienced Field Application Engineer (Semiconductors)

Location: Norway; travel up to 20%, primarily within Europe with some intercontinental travel.

What you will do

• Engage with customers to understand technical requirements for semiconductor IC products.
• Assess competitive solutions and advocate hirify.global value propositions.
• Develop application-specific technical presentations with account managers, product marketing, and technical experts.
• Combine technical and commercial requirements into design-winning proposals.
• Resolve issues and concerns through production-ready design and tapeout to the fab.
• Advocate internally for improved features and capabilities where competitive gaps exist.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent field such as applied physics.
• At least 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including design and/or process experience.
• Working knowledge of IC chip design flows and tools from architectural definition through performance characterization.
• Technical program management, problem-solving, ownership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Fluent written and verbal English.
• Ability to travel up to 20%, primarily within Europe, with some intercontinental travel.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering or an equivalent field.
• Semiconductor product design experience at chip or module level.
• Experience with IoT, especially ultra-low-power applications.
• Experience with digital, analog mixed-signal, HV power, eNVM, millimetre-wave, silicon photonics, or SoC design and integration.
• Project management, planning, and organizational skills.
