Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Onsite in Pleasanton, CA, Monday through Friday.

Base annual salary: $135,000–$150,000. Annual bonus: up to 10%.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, monitor, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for internal and external data sources.
• Develop reusable Python libraries and frameworks, REST API integrations, and CI/CD automation for deployment, testing, and releases.
• Design and maintain enterprise data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, including Warehouses, Lakehouses, Semantic Models, and Data Pipelines.
• Define Fabric architecture, workspace strategy, security, governance, capacity planning, workload isolation, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Design data models and enterprise architectures while maintaining data quality, security, lineage, metadata, documentation, and compliance.
• Partner with Data Science, Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, analytics, software engineering, and business stakeholder teams to deliver reliable data infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including data migration projects.
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
• Experience building modern cloud-based data platforms in Azure; AWS or GCP experience is also beneficial.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Expert-level SQL, strong Python development skills, and experience with PySpark, Pandas, and Spark.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and schema design; experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake, Parquet, and large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and data integration patterns, plus strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independent working, attention-to-detail, and data-quality skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting for enterprise data platforms.
