Hardware Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland. Swiss or EU citizenship required. Availability to travel to the US and across Europe.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, optimize, and integrate reliable analog and mixed-signal electronics for satellites.
• Own the full electronic board development cycle from requirements and architecture through production.
• Select components, create schematics and PCB designs, support procurement, and perform board bring-up.
• Consider electrical, size, weight, reliability, and space-environment constraints.
• Prepare design and manufacturing documentation and report technical solutions and findings.
• Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, RF, embedded systems, and external engineering partners.

Requirements

• MSc, PhD, or equivalent in electronic engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal electronics from concept through production.
• Strong aerospace background, spacecraft subsystem expertise, and knowledge of radiation effects on semiconductors and ESA standards.
• Experience with analog/digital PLLs, control systems, ADCs, DACs, operational amplifiers, and active filters.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools, preferably Altium.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and similar test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGA, RF components, and satellite communications.
• Experience with SolidWorks-based mechanical co-design, Ansys SIwave, or LTspice.
• Experience collaborating with RF design and embedded software/programmable logic engineers.
