Product Owner (Cyber Defense)

Location: Hybrid position requiring onsite work 2–3 days per week at the customer site in Fort Meade, Maryland, United States; travel up to 25% CONUS and OCONUS as necessary.

Salary: $133,073–$190,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead analytic and application development supporting DoD cyber operations and integrate production capabilities into customer workflows.
• Gather software and data requirements from DCDC and NC3 customers, translating them into development roadmaps and an NC3 data strategy.
• Operationalize Big Data Platform capabilities, support users, answer platform questions, and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate DevSecOps pipeline delivery, customer acceptance, feature rollouts, and delivery timelines with development and engineering teams.
• Build government customer relationships, support adoption and buy-in, and provide leadership updates on project status and customer engagements.
• Support business development, opportunity identification, proposal activities, partner networks, and customer growth strategies.

Requirements

• Active Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required; ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
• 9+ years of experience in DoD cyber, agile development, and/or big data with a bachelor’s degree; equivalent pathways include 7 years with a master’s degree or 13 years with a high school diploma.
• Prior government or military experience with organizations such as MARFORCYBER, DCSA, DCDC, DISA, Army Cyber, U.S. Cyber Command, AFCYBER, or Navy Cyber.
• Experience managing complex technical projects or programs and gathering customer requirements for product adoption.
• Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade 2–3 days per week and travel up to 25%, including occasional short-notice CONUS and necessary OCONUS travel.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications.
• Experience with software engineering, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, Big Data Platforms, or data lake architectures.
• Technical background sufficient to assess system requirements and support design and estimating.
