Product Owner (Cyber Defense)

Location: Fort Meade, MD, US; hybrid work with customer-site attendance 2–3 days per week and travel up to 25% CONUS, with OCONUS travel as necessary.

Salary: $133,073–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain relationships with targeted government customers and support customer adoption of analytics, applications, and capabilities on the government-owned Big Data Platform.
• Lead analytic and application development support, integrate production capabilities into daily operations, and provide technical support for platform users.
• Gather software and data requirements from DCDC and NC3 customer leads, create development roadmaps, and maintain an NC3 data strategy.
• Coordinate with development, engineering, program, marketing, and Customer Experience Group teams to align DevSecOps delivery with customer timelines.
• Provide leadership updates on project status, customer engagements, government direction, and capability adoption.
• Support business development through opportunity identification, proposal activities, market responses, partner development, and customer expansion.

Requirements

• Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• 9+ years of experience in DoD cyber, agile development, and/or big data with a bachelor’s degree in business, a technical field, or a related field; or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
• Prior government or military experience with MARFORCYBER, DCSA, DCDC, DISA, Army Cyber, U.S. Cyber Command, AFCYBER, or 10th Fleet/Navy Cyber.
• Experience directly managing complex technical projects or programs and understanding budget practices and acquisition functions.
• Ability to understand customer needs, support product adoption and buy-in, conduct interviews using active listening and empathy, and speak in public forums.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and participate in the full business-development lifecycle, including proposal support, staffing, opportunity identification, bid/no-bid analysis, and RFI/market responses.
• Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, sometimes on short notice, and work at the Fort Meade customer site 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications, as required by the customer.
• Experience with software engineering, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
• Technical background sufficient to determine system requirements and support accurate design and estimation.
• Experience with big data platforms or data lake architectures.
