Tool & Die Technician (Injection Molding)

Location: Onsite in Sanford, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $28.00 per hour plus an 8% third-shift premium

What you will do

• Install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain injection molds and tooling.
• Manage tooling repairs, engineering changes, priorities, and the tooling budget.
• Build and maintain fixtures for removing hand-loaded inserts and improving operator safety.
• Coordinate repair quotes and work with external molding vendors on off-site tooling.
• Support production and facility equipment maintenance, fabrication, and machining in the toolroom.
• Participate in continuous improvement and coordinate repairs with scheduling to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Ability to operate toolroom equipment, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, hand tools, and welders with precision.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, pin gauges, and height gauges.
• Ability to accurately read blueprints, tooling prints, and part prints.
• Computer literacy.
• Availability for the third shift, 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, lift, and lower loads up to 50 pounds; steel-toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.
