Advanced Unreal Technical Designer (Player Package)

Location: Austin, TX; fully remote employment may be available only from U.S. states where hirify.global is registered

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year

hirify.global is a Texas-based game developer known for co-developing AAA first-person shooter games and creating original titles.

What you will do

• Implement gameplay and player systems in collaboration with the Lead Designer.
• Script gameplay and environmental systems supporting combat, puzzles, missions, weapons, and enemies.
• Create, improve, and maintain development pipelines, tools, documentation, gameplay systems, and events.
• Work with designers, artists, and engineers to implement engaging gameplay features.
• Playtest levels and systems, gathering and integrating feedback from internal and external QA.
• Support idea generation and feature implementation while meeting product goals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Scripter or Technical Designer.
• Strong understanding of Unreal Engine systems, including Blueprint, and 2+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 5.
• Programming experience with C++, Lua, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience as a Scripter or Technical Designer on a shipped title.
• Ability to analyze core gameplay and mechanics and implement improvements.
• Ability to self-manage against hard deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Full-cycle experience as a Scripter or Technical Designer on a shipped AAA game.
• Experience designing and developing player 3Cs: camera, controls, and character.
• Extensive experience playing shooter and action games.
• A related degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
