Senior Engineer, Software Autonomy Applications (C++)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; on-site. The role includes approximately 50% travel, including frequent international customer-site deployments lasting multiple weeks.

What you will do

• Deploy with customers on-site to support Hivemind software integration and development.
• Develop AI and autonomy applications using the hirify.global enterprise software development kit.
• Provide technical support and training on Hivemind and its autonomy modules.
• Debug customer software and API integration issues and support post-sales deployments.
• Support sales activities through demonstrations, conferences, and customer immersions.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to address customer feedback and improve autonomy products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong software engineering background and proficiency in writing modern C++.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Tokyo and travel internationally for approximately 50% of the time.

• Experience in defense, aviation, or robotics.
• Experience as a customer-facing solutions, applications, or sales engineer.
• Experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
• Advanced technical degree in robotics, autonomy, or a related field.
