What you will do

• Develop backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, and reconciliation.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and other data providers.
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.
• Optimize system reliability, observability, security, and performance.
• Build auditable systems ready for regulated financial products.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
• Location: Must be based in Japan (Hybrid, 3+ days in Tokyo office)
• English: Strong communication skills required
• Understanding of security, reliability, and data quality.
