Junior Accountant (Accounts Payable)

What you will do

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, applying German VAT treatment and matching invoices to purchase orders.
• Review employee expenses, travel bookings, and corporate card transactions for correct coding, documentation, and policy compliance.
• Support vendor onboarding, duplicate checks, and vendor bank detail maintenance.
• Prepare payment runs, resolve payment queries, and reconcile vendor and accounts payable balances.
• Support month-end close by reviewing the AP subledger and aging, clearing the intake queue, preparing reconciliations, and providing accrual information.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience processing and coding incoming invoices.
• German apprenticeship such as Steuerfachangestellte, or a business administration degree focused on finance or accounting.
• Fluent German and English at C1+ level; German is required for reviewing invoices and communicating with vendors.
• Working knowledge of German VAT on incoming invoices.
• Strong attention to detail when handling high transaction volumes.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Airbase, or a comparable procure-to-pay system.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience with purchase order matching and vendor master data cleanup.
