Chemistry Lab Technician (Semiconductor)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, USA; onsite, 2 pm–10 pm, Monday–Friday

Salary: $27.62–$32 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus

What you will do

• Inspect incoming raw materials and perform analytical and physical-property testing on finished, experimental, and customer complaint samples.
• Operate and maintain laboratory tools, including HPLC, ICP, particle-sizing equipment, and instruments for pH, viscosity, and specific gravity testing.
• Calibrate and verify test equipment, troubleshoot equipment and customer testing requirements, and resolve deviations from standards.
• Record testing data in Sample Manager, create reports and charts, and analyze trends using SPC, SQC, and control-charting techniques.
• Develop and document new test methods, work instructions, and procedures while supporting ISO 9000 audits and production activities.
• Communicate test results through certificates of analysis and quality reports, and assist with training other laboratory team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Chemistry or Biology.
• Technical knowledge of laboratory operations, strong mathematics skills, and experience with basic laboratory measurement equipment.
• Experience with analytical equipment and basic statistical methods, including SPC and SQC.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate initiative, adapt to change, and maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate computer skills, including data entry and spreadsheet development.
• Must be able to work onsite in Aurora, Illinois, during the 2 pm–10 pm Monday–Friday shift.

Nice to have

• Extensive experience with HPLC and/or ICP technologies.
• Relevant quality laboratory experience.
• Experience with statistical software such as JMP.
