Security Engineer III (Cloud Security)

What you will do

• Design and build a security data lake ingesting, normalizing, retaining, and querying telemetry from Azure, AWS, SaaS, and endpoint sources.
• Develop, test, deploy, tune, measure, and retire detection rules as code through CI/CD.
• Automate alert triage, enrichment, and response runbooks to reduce mean time to detect and respond.
• Harden Azure and AWS environments across identity, RBAC, network egress, secrets, logging, and public exposure controls.
• Deliver cloud security controls through Terraform modules and GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Prioritize cloud security posture findings, assess detection coverage against recognized threat frameworks, and coordinate remediation with resource owners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud operations, or detection engineering, including hands-on production cloud security ownership.
• Production experience writing and maintaining Terraform modules consumed by other teams.
• Operational depth with both Azure and AWS security, identity models, logging, audit sources, and network boundaries.
• Experience building detections from real telemetry, tuning false positives, and validating shipped rules.
• Strong knowledge of RBAC, least privilege, key and secret management, egress control, and public-exposure prevention.
• Fluency in KQL, SQL, or an equivalent security-data query language, plus Python or comparable scripting for automation.

Nice to have

• Production-scale Microsoft Sentinel, Wiz, incident response, or security data lake and SIEM migration experience.
• Kubernetes and container security experience with AKS or EKS.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, or HITRUST requirements.
• Relevant Azure or AWS security, GCIA, GCDA, or similar certifications.
