Staff Cyber Security Engineer (Cloud)

Location: United States citizenship required. Work locations include Carlsbad, California; Tempe, Arizona; Reston, Virginia; Washington, DC; Duluth, Georgia; and Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and maintain reusable security templates and reference architectures for cloud teams across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Provide architecture guidance and conduct security reviews against industry best practices and organizational standards.
• Drive compliance with security frameworks, including CMMC Level 2 requirements.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Develop cloud security solutions, reusable templates, and standardized practices with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• At least 5 years of practical security experience and 5 years of engineering or software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong AWS and GCP architecture and development knowledge, including secure cloud solution implementation.
• Understanding of encryption, identity and access management, network segmentation, and threat modeling.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

Nice to have

• TCP/IP and cloud networking knowledge, including VPCs, subnets, routing, and firewalls.
• Programming experience with Python or another object-oriented language.
• Experience with software testing, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and automated security integration.
• AWS security tooling experience with Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Inspector.
• GCP security tooling experience with Security Command Center Enterprise, Google SecOps, and VPC Service Controls.
