Director, Forward Deployed Engineering (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the New York City office, with occasional travel to customer sites.

Salary: $225,000–$275,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage a team of five forward deployed engineers, including coaching, performance management, hiring, and resource allocation across strategic accounts.
• Own the technical approach, architecture, and prioritization for customer deployments.
• Act as the senior technical partner for customer engineering and operations leaders from kickoff through escalation.
• Drive deployments into production by managing schedules, removing blockers, and adapting solutions to site requirements.
• Work with hirify.global leadership on account direction, risks, progress, and blockers.
• Translate field learnings into platform priorities with Product and Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineers who deploy software in customer environments.
• Deep systems experience and the ability to quickly become fluent in unfamiliar platforms.
• Ability to review designs and read code without coding day to day.
• Experience with systems integration, SDKs, and edge/cloud architectures, including unreliable networks and hardware.
• Enterprise customer experience and the credibility to engage directly with customer leadership.
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information, build structure in bespoke environments, and balance account urgency with scalable portfolio solutions.

Nice to have

• Professional robotics or IoT experience is not required.
