Workday Payroll Analyst (Workday)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates who can work Mountain or Central time zones are preferred.

What you will do

• Process regular and off-cycle multi-state payroll in Workday accurately and on schedule.
• Reconcile payroll data, audit results, resolve discrepancies, and execute tax deposits through Workday and ADP SmartCompliance.
• Monitor equity transaction settlement dates and ensure timely tax deposit execution, including same-day deposits when required.
• Support payroll compliance, including tax thresholds, deposit deadlines, W-2 processing, ACA reporting, Form 941 reconciliation, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
• Partner with HR Business Partners and Total Rewards on compensation changes, onboarding, terminations, and leave processing.
• Improve and standardize payroll and People Operations processes, including the use of AI-driven tools and Workday Payroll Agents.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, ideally in a multi-state environment.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience is required.
• Working knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance and federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements, including IRS deposit rules and Form 941 reconciliation.
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience or demonstrated interest in using AI tools, automation, prompts, and system capabilities to improve workflows.
• Ability to work remotely from within the United States; Mountain or Central time zone availability is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with equity or stock-based payroll.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
