Embedded Software Developer (New Grad)

Annual pay range: $68,800–$109,800 CAD

What you will do

• Develop low-level software components for embedded networking products.
• Work with Linux kernel components, packages, utilities, and build systems.
• Perform board bring-up and support product lifecycle activities.
• Develop and maintain scripts, test utilities, and engineering tools.
• Complete development, testing, documentation, debugging, and maintenance activities across the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to defect reduction, software quality, reliability, and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, obtained within the past 12 months or expected within the next 6 months.
• Previous internship, co-op, or relevant applied project experience.
• Advanced C programming skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded systems or telecom software.
• Linux kernel-space or user-space development.
• Knowledge of CPU architectures, hardware specifications, timing diagrams, and device data sheets.
• Understanding of low-level operating system concepts and hardware technologies.
• Experience with build systems and utilities such as Make and Yocto, plus assembler, compiler, and linker toolchains.
