Salary: $125,000–$160,000 for Autonomy and Robotics Software Engineer; $165,000–$220,000 for Senior Autonomy and Robotics Software Engineer, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and deploy production autonomy software in modern C++ on Linux, using Python for tooling, analysis, and machine learning workflows.
  • Build and integrate perception, localization, sensor fusion, navigation, planning, embedded inference, and mission autonomy capabilities.
  • Take systems from prototypes through simulation, software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, flight testing, and field deployment.
  • Analyze logs, simulation results, and test data to debug failures, improve robustness, and accelerate iteration.
  • Develop evaluation pipelines, metrics, and tooling for accuracy, latency, drift, handoff stability, and mission-level performance.
  • Collaborate with hardware, sensing, flight test, and machine learning teams to optimize real-time software and models for embedded compute.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or 3+ years of equivalent practical software engineering experience.
  • Strong modern C++ and Linux skills, plus Python for tooling, analysis, or machine learning.
  • Experience taking research or prototype systems into reliable hardware deployment and debugging real-world robotics, autonomy, or embedded software.
  • Deep expertise in at least one area such as perception, localization, state estimation, navigation, planning, machine learning, or embedded autonomy.
  • Experience with validation using metrics, simulation, logs, field testing, CI-based validation, and evaluation tooling.
  • Employment requires authorization to work in the United States and may require eligibility to access technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without export-license sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SLAM, VIO, GNSS/INS fusion, relocalization, or multi-sensor fusion.
  • Experience with detection, segmentation, tracking, pose estimation, classification, or machine learning models for autonomy.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or RTOS platforms, sensor and vehicle interfaces, motion planning, or decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Experience with simulation, HITL, synthetic data, sensor modeling, RF denial, GNSS degradation, low-light operations, or high-vibration platforms.
  • Strong data practices, including dataset versioning and reproducible pipelines.
