Application Development Engineer (Electronics)

Location: Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa, Japan; preference for the hirify.global offices in Tokyo, Kawasaki, or Nagoya, with other hirify.global locations also considered. Business travel of approximately 40% is required.

What you will do

• Contribute to project planning, technical objective definition, and business growth for strategic OEM accounts.
• Support prototyping, laboratory work, hands-on product evaluation, and testing.
• Develop and deliver technical solutions that address customer needs and capture value for the ICS business.
• Build a deep understanding of customer manufacturing processes and hirify.global products and services.
• Manage technology processes related to ICS products and services.
• Collaborate with account management, sales, marketing, product management, ATG, and R&D to strengthen customer relationships and communicate the voice of the customer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, or electronics.
• Technical expertise, customer relationship-building ability, and business development experience.
• Technical consulting experience and a record of developing long-term customer relationships.
• Laboratory and hands-on evaluation experience, with strong communication, collaboration, initiative, time management, and learning agility.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English in a global environment and travel for business approximately 40% of the time.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus the ability to lead cross-functional teams involving hirify.global personnel, customers, and OEM representatives.

Nice to have

• At least three years of experience designing high-voltage electric machines.
• Experience in the electronics industry.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems.
