Mechanical Project Buyer

hirify.global develops robotics products requiring mechanical components and assemblies for development and series production.

What you will do

• Source CNC-machined, turned and milled, sheet metal, mechanical assembly, housing, drive, and precision mechanical components.
• Identify, select, and develop suitable suppliers, from specialized manufacturers to international production suppliers.
• Conduct technical and commercial bid comparisons and lead price and contract negotiations for mechanical commodities.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, development, and project teams to ensure component availability from prototypes through series production.
• Manage risks including capacity constraints, manufacturing risks, second sources, and component lifecycle requirements.
• Monitor delivery, supplier quality, technical requirements, global sourcing markets, manufacturing technologies, and procurement process and ERP improvements.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in technical purchasing, ideally focused on mechanical components or mechanical engineering.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, turning and milling, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatments, and assembly manufacturing.
• Ability to understand technical requirements, analyze drawings and bills of materials, and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Experience in project purchasing, ideally in development and series production environments.
• Strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style in a dynamic development environment.
• Experience with ERP systems and a solid understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Fluent German and English skills, written and spoken.
