Purchasing Manager (Fusion Energy)

A deep-tech fusion company developing the hardware and infrastructure for commercial stellarator fusion power plants.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day purchasing across indirect categories, including R&D technical materials, laboratory equipment, and rapid prototyping requests.
• Run the full purchase-to-pay cycle from requisition and purchase order creation through order tracking and goods receipt.
• Partner with Finance to maintain fast and compliant purchasing processes.
• Support Engineering and Operations by clarifying requirements, sourcing quotes, and converting technical requests into accurate orders.
• Identify and onboard suppliers, evaluate offers, and negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Contribute to framework agreements, larger tenders, procurement automation, and the development of procurement tools.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
• Experience in R&D or indirect procurement within a complex deep-tech or engineering environment is preferred.
• Organized, hands-on, dependable, and able to follow orders through to delivery.
• Experience with ERP and procurement systems such as Coupa, SAP, or Oracle.
• Active use of AI tools to automate and improve work.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering, or a commercial apprenticeship focused on purchasing.

Nice to have

• Experience purchasing for laboratories, manufacturing, or engineering teams.
• Experience with framework agreements, tenders, or technical supplier management.
