Purchasing Specialist (Fusion)

hirify.global is a European fusion company developing the hardware and infrastructure for a commercial stellarator fusion power plant.

What you will do

• Design and execute procurement strategies for highly technical components, services, and first-of-a-kind builds.
• Identify, assess, onboard, and manage suppliers while strengthening existing partnerships.
• Lead commercial negotiations, evaluate bids, and structure contracts that manage supplier risk and optimize cost and value.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement from requisition through delivery in line with internal policies.
• Improve procurement systems, databases, processes, and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations, providing procurement input during product development and prototyping.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in technical procurement, preferably in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications and assess manufacturability and supplier capabilities.
• Experience with contract negotiation, supplier risk management, and cost/value optimization.
• Strong communication skills and professional English proficiency required.
• Hands-on experience with procurement platforms, ERP systems, and data-driven decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience in a startup, fusion, aerospace, defence, or medtech environment.
• Team leadership experience.
• German language skills.

Hiring process

• Recruiter interview lasting 30–60 minutes.
