Capture Solution Architect (Space & Ground Programmes)

Location: Based in Sydney, Australia; occasional travel to customers and technology sites worldwide. Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1) are required.

What you will do

• Lead the development of technical solutions for high-value bids and capture proposals in the space domain, including satellites and ground stations.
• Work with global engineering and technology teams to shape solutions for government-facing space opportunities in the Eastern Hemisphere.
• Create technical briefs, architecture designs, proposals, presentations, RFT responses, and business-case materials based on customer requirements.
• Lead internal and customer-facing technical meetings, make engineering decisions, and present technical recommendations.
• Support the Director of Sovereign Space Programmes with capture initiatives, customer meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
• Travel for business approximately 20–30% of the time.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of technical experience in SATCOM or PNT, including 4–5 years as a solutions architect.
• Degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
• Strong knowledge of SATCOM in civilian and defence government markets.
• Experience with bid writing, presentations, technical documentation, systems engineering, requirements management, and project methodologies.
• Broad technical knowledge covering equipment design, network design, and service operations; spacecraft design and operations knowledge is desirable.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1) required.

Nice to have

• Professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer, or equivalent registration with an engineering or science institute.
• MBA qualification.
• Project or product management experience.
• Knowledge of MS Office and ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
