Solutions Architect (Satellite Communications)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. U.S. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $115,000–$225,000 per year, with additional level-based ranges and equity.

What you will do

• Translate capacity, coverage, latency, and deployment requirements into product and solution architectures.
• Define RF and system-level parameters, including antenna configurations, throughput, link performance, and availability targets.
• Develop and iterate architectures using simulation outputs, link budgets, and real-world operational constraints.
• Partner with Business Development on customer engagements and proposals.
• Align Engineering Leadership on system tradeoffs, product direction, roadmap, and execution-ready definitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in systems engineering, solutions architecture, or technical product roles.
• Experience owning complex, cross-functional systems and driving alignment across disciplines.
• Working knowledge of RF systems, ground stations, satellite communications, or related infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and navigate ambiguity.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying communications, networking, aerospace, or infrastructure systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of RF systems, satellite communications, network tradeoffs, and system performance analysis.
• Experience shaping customer proposals, product direction, and roadmap decisions.
