Cybersecurity Engineer II - Secret Clearance

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based in a U.S. office

Base pay: $110,000–$135,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for SDA program infrastructure, including networks, servers, and applications.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests, then mitigate identified risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry regulations and best practices.
• Monitor security systems, investigate incidents, and coordinate remediation.
• Integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle with IT and development teams.
• Track emerging threats and recommend improvements to the organization’s security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Active Secret security clearance required upon hire.
• At least 2 years of experience in system security engineering or a related role.
• 8140 Intermediate or Advanced certification, such as Security+, Cloud+, CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
• Knowledge of NIST 800, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements; U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements apply.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Experience with DevSecOps, incident response, digital forensics, scripting, and automation.
• Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and application security.
• Python or PowerShell scripting experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
