What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize networking capabilities for embedded software and firmware on Android and Linux systems.
• Develop networking functionality for Poly Video hardware products and resolve software and firmware issues.
• Review system designs and project activities against development standards, providing feedback to improve quality and reduce failure risk.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and firmware teams to define communication protocols, system states, and feature requirements.
• Drive the integration of new technologies and provide networking expertise across cross-functional projects.
• Mentor less-experienced software and firmware engineers.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 7–10 years of experience in firmware development or a related field.
• Strong C and C++ development skills with object-oriented design principles, plus Python for network automation and testing.
• Experience developing embedded systems and firmware for Linux and Android, including early development board bring-up and real-time operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, routing, switching, IPv4/IPv6, wireless networking, authentication, and network security.
• Experience with enterprise network equipment, Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting, network simulation appliances, and tools such as Wireshark.

Nice to have

• Experience designing large-scale enterprise or global networks.
• Knowledge of SASE, Zero Trust, network segmentation, and security compliance.
• Experience with APIs, Infrastructure-as-Code, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
• Experience supporting security audits, penetration testing remediation, VoIP, SIP, Teams Phone, Zoom, or conferencing solutions.
