Manager, Accounting (R5543)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees.

What you will do

• Manage the monthly global accounting close and consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, accrual reviews, cash transaction processing, and reconciliations.
• Partner with Finance to deliver timely closing and reporting cycles.
• Implement, document, and maintain internal controls in preparation for future SOX compliance.
• Improve accounting systems, processes, documentation, and governance practices.
• Promote accounting quality and accuracy through review, verification, and reconciliation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience in a robust internal control environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage projects from inception through completion and consistently meet deadlines.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Active CPA license.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment or in aerospace and defense.
• Familiarity with project-based accounting and SOX compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and complex problem-solving skills.
