Senior RF Phased Array Engineer I (Aerospace): Developing RF products and phased-array systems for spacecraft and other space missions with an accent on antenna performance, RF communications, and space-qualified product development. Focus on modeling and simulating array performance, leading prototyping and integration, designing active-antenna test systems, and supporting complex engineering programs.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters

Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD annually, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end development of RF products and phased-array systems, from architecture and prototyping through integration, testing, flight development, and production transition.
  • Model and simulate antenna and array performance for active programs and proposals.
  • Collaborate with RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, and structural engineering teams.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, ground support equipment, and production automation for active antennas, including EIRP and G/T testing.
  • Support requirements assessments, proposals, engineering reviews, product documentation, customer interfaces, and anomaly troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF communications, or an equivalent field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamental RF knowledge, including link budget analysis and linearity.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of RF communications, navigation systems, and related components.
  • Experience modeling and simulating antenna or phased-array performance.
  • Deep understanding of interference effects on RF systems.
  • For work in U.S. offices, eligibility under U.S. ITAR export regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Space-grade system design and RF communications experience for launch vehicles or satellites.
  • Worst-case, reliability, FMECA, thermal, and derating analysis experience.
  • Experience leading complex engineering programs, preparing technical documentation, mentoring, and project management.
  • Experience with incident management, investigations, conflict resolution, and working to tight deadlines.
