Regulatory Counsel (Product)

What you will do

• Advise on new product launches, features, and initiatives across the global platform.
• Conduct regulatory gap analyses and assess product permissibility and risk across target jurisdictions.
• Build and maintain product compliance frameworks, playbooks, decision matrices, and approval workflows.
• Advise Product, Tech, Business, and Fiat teams on regulatory constraints, user eligibility, geo-restrictions, and risk mitigation.
• Assess the regulatory classification of spot trading, derivatives, lending, staking, earn, NFT, launchpad, and copy-trading products.
• Monitor regulatory developments, coordinate with licensing counsel and external advisors, and prepare risk assessments for senior leadership.

Requirements

• Law degree such as LLB, JD, or equivalent; admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction is preferred.
• 3–6 years of experience in regulatory, financial services, technology, fintech, or crypto law, including product advisory experience.
• Direct experience advising on crypto or digital asset products at an exchange, fintech, or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency products and the regulatory treatment of derivatives, perpetuals, structured products, consumer protection, advertising, and marketing.
• Ability to conduct multi-jurisdictional regulatory analysis and provide clear, commercially actionable, risk-based advice.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; Chinese is an additional advantage.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in ADGM, SFC, FCA, and VARA jurisdictions.
• Prior in-house experience in a high-growth technology or fintech company.
• Experience with product governance frameworks and new product approval processes.
