Senior RF Digital Payload Engineer II Pipeline

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship or other ITAR-eligible status is required for U.S. office roles.

Base pay range: $145,000–$210,000 USD annually, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and maintain product requirements and architect digital payload designs.
• Design and prototype modems, processors, network routers, and related digital products, including component selection, PCB layout, fabrication, and packaging.
• Support board bring-up, qualification, production, test planning, GSE, production automation, and product documentation.
• Collaborate with test and manufacturing engineers to drive new product introduction.
• Review customer and program requirements, scope development activities, and support engineering reviews such as PDRs, CDRs, and TRRs.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot anomalies for internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or another engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in space electronics.
• Technical expertise in high-speed serial interfaces including SPI, PCIe, and Ethernet; system-on-chips; microcontrollers; and digital signal processing.
• Experience developing and delivering digital products from requirements assessment and engineering prototypes through production of space-qualified products.
• Detailed knowledge of DSP algorithms and communication theory.
• U.S. citizenship or another status permitting access to ITAR-regulated technology is required.

Nice to have

• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with modems, space-grade board design, high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit simulation, timing analysis, and physical constraints.
• Experience designing, integrating, and testing communications systems for launch vehicles or satellites.
• Experience leading complex engineering programs, incident investigations, and project management.
