TL;DR
Hardware Automation Engineer (Electronic Hardware and Automation): Designing and optimizing electronic and automation hardware systems for product platforms, test systems, and production fixtures with an accent on reliability, manufacturability, and testability. Focus on developing schematics, integrating sensors and control electronics, troubleshooting complex hardware issues, and transitioning designs from prototyping through manufacturing.

hirify.global is hiring for hardware automation engineering within its manufacturing function.

What you will do

  • Design electronic schematics and automation hardware for product platforms, test systems, and engineering prototypes.
  • Own the hardware lifecycle from requirements definition, feasibility studies, and architecture through prototyping, validation, manufacturing transition, and sustaining support.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, test engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams on hardware–software integration and system performance.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability, Testability, Automation, Reliability, and Cost principles to improve hardware robustness and efficiency.
  • Develop production automation hardware, including fixture electronics, sensors, control boards, and interface modules.
  • Conduct design reviews and FMEA/risk assessments, troubleshoot hardware issues, and maintain BOMs, schematics, design notes, and revision-controlled documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, automation hardware development, or R&D hardware engineering.
  • Strong proficiency with schematic design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout principles, component selection, and hardware design best practices.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and hardware–firmware–software interfaces.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with sensors, actuators, motor drivers, control electronics, or test fixture circuitry.
