Payment Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain payments compliance policies, frameworks, and internal standards.
• Provide regulatory structuring support for payments setups, partner models, and fund flows.
• Review payment partner onboarding and agreements from a compliance perspective.
• Advise on licensing scope, regulatory permissions, and operational constraints.
• Work with Product, Operations, and Legal to build compliant payments initiatives.
• Coordinate with external counsel and regulators on payments-related matters.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer or compliance professional with legal training.
• Preferably called to the bar in Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, or Hong Kong.
• 3–7 years of experience in payments, fintech, EMI/PSP, or financial services compliance or regulatory advisory.
• Strong understanding of payments regulation, fund flows, and licensing frameworks.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into workable operating models.
• Experience in multi-jurisdiction environments is advantageous.
