Consultant/Manager Software Engineering (JavaScript/Node.js/Python)

Location: Windsor, Connecticut, United States; telecommuting permitted with 5% domestic travel to SS&C offices and conferences.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and support software applications.
• Modify existing applications and create new solutions supporting business functions for the organization and its customers.
• Lead medium to large development projects and resolve complex or high-profile technical issues.
• Lead processes or functions without direct reports and develop policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Advise and provide technical direction to more junior professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 7 years of software engineering experience, or a master’s degree plus 5 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with JavaScript, Node.js, Python, REST APIs, and JSON.
• At least 5 years of experience with distributed and concurrent systems, multithreading, asynchronous programming, event-driven programming, microservices, performance, and scalability.
• At least 3 years of experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra and application caching such as Redis.
• Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
