Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Operate and support hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments, handling incidents, requests, and changes within agreed SLAs.
• Design, build, and run Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including networking, security, and identity.
• Automate infrastructure and drive continuous improvement using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code.
• Maintain availability and performance through monitoring, capacity management, maintenance, and vendor engagement.
• Support incident, problem, change, risk, and information security management, including audit activities.
• Improve business continuity through resilient design, backup and restore validation, and disaster recovery exercises.

Requirements

• Degree qualification or equivalent industry experience, with typically 5+ years of infrastructure operations experience in a similar environment.
• Strong production experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS, networking, security, and identity.
• Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid and virtualised environments, and integration patterns such as VMware ESX/NSX.
• Experience with F5 LTM/XC, PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring or observability tools such as Splunk or Nagios.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Commvault or Azure Backup, with practical resilience-testing experience.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and an understanding of risk management, information security, audits, and regulated production environments.
