Snr Systems Engineer, Public Sector, Defence and Defence Industrial Base (UK&I) (Storage)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United Kingdom, with regular travel across the UK and Ireland for customer and partner meetings, including on-site government and defence visits.

What you will do

• Partner with Account Executives on public-sector and defence opportunities, from discovery and territory planning through technical validation and close.
• Translate government and defence requirements into technical architectures, proposals, sizing, quotes, and solution concepts.
• Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and customer follow-up sessions remotely and on-site.
• Mentor Systems Engineers and provide technical direction across public-sector and defence opportunities.
• Enable channel-partner SEs through workshops, bootcamps, coaching, and joint customer engagements.
• Validate storage architecture, protocols, virtualisation environments, infrastructure, security, and resilience requirements while collaborating with sales, partners, support, and product teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in pre-sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Strong storage and infrastructure fundamentals, including block, file, and object storage; FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, virtualisation, and VMware-style environments.
• Ability to lead consultative technical discovery and communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, qualifying opportunities, presenting solutions, and working with channel partners.
• Familiarity with UK government and defence procurement frameworks, security classifications, and accreditation processes is valuable.
• Completed enhanced UK Government security vetting is required.
