Product Support Engineer Advanced (ICP-MS)

Location: Based at the Hachioji office, Japan; occasional international travel required.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership to regional support specialists, channel support teams, and project stakeholders.
• Represent Product Support Engineering in new product introduction and product revision projects across the ICP-MS portfolio.
• Implement design control, requirements traceability, verification and validation, and Design for Supportability practices.
• Investigate complex field issues and technical escalations with Service, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams.
• Maintain customer-facing documentation, field-support materials, training resources, and the internal support portal.
• Track product support metrics, reliability trends, repair costs, and continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Professional engineering or science experience, preferably in a life sciences instrumentation organization.
• Experience with ISO 9001 environments, quality or reliability engineering, and quality tools is preferred.
• Experience designing or implementing test plans and resolving issues through cross-functional collaboration.
• Previous team lead, supervisor, or manager experience is desirable.
• Spoken and written English, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and computer proficiency.
