Electronics Engineer – Satellite Manufacturing (AIT Production)

Location: Onsite in Harwell, UK. Hybrid is listed in the header, but the role description states that the position will be based onsite. Legal right to work in the UK is required.

What you will do

• Integrate and validate electronic assemblies used in satellite manufacturing.
• Support new product introduction and daily production activities.
• Develop test procedures, validation setups, and diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair PCBs and electronic systems using laboratory equipment.
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers on manufacturability, component quality, traceability, and obsolescence.
• Analyse production data, lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and maintain electrical and test documentation.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and component selection.
• Experience fault-finding and repairing electronic assemblies with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analysers.
• Hands-on soldering and rework experience with surface-mount and through-hole components.
• Working knowledge of IPC standards and ESD-controlled environments.
• Ability to define, follow, and improve electronic test and validation processes.
• Structured problem solving, root cause analysis, production data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
