Electronics Systems Engineer III

Location: UK - London; hybrid work environment. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Salary: £56,000–£64,800 GBP per year, plus bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Own the full electronic hardware design lifecycle from requirements definition through production and manufacturing handover.
• Design production-ready multilayer PCBs in Altium for high-speed digital, FPGA, switch-mode power, and mixed-signal circuitry.
• Diagnose hardware issues using structured root-cause analysis and laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Assess system-level effects across EMC, thermal performance, firmware integration, and long-term reliability.
• Collaborate with firmware, systems, and mechanical engineers to deliver integrated products.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, participate in design reviews, and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electronic engineering or a similar discipline.
• Proven experience independently delivering multilayer PCB designs involving high-speed digital, power, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer, from schematic capture through layout.
• Confidence diagnosing hardware with laboratory equipment and structured fault-finding techniques.
• Experience taking designs through the complete lifecycle, including hardware/firmware integration and manufacturing transition.
• Right to work in the UK is required.

Nice to have

• Python or C scripting for test automation or data analysis.
• FPGA development experience using VHDL.
• Familiarity with EMC compliance standards or reliability methods such as FMEA and derating.
