Staff Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design for complex products, systems, and subsystems across the Apollo robot lifecycle.
• Drive system architecture decisions, design trade studies, and technical risk mitigation.
• Own designs from concept development through new product introduction, production release, and sustaining engineering.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and contract manufacturers on production readiness and ramp-up.
• Plan and execute verification, validation, and reliability testing, and support field and manufacturing issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, influence technical direction, and help establish engineering standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of related mechanical engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead and deliver complex mechanical systems or architectures.
• Deep expertise in at least one core area such as precision design, analysis, DFMA, or electromechanical systems.
• Advanced proficiency in mechanical analysis, including FEA and analytical modeling, with strong knowledge of materials selection, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, prototyping, verification, validation, reliability testing, and integration with electronics, software, motion, thermal, or fluid systems.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, automation, equipment design, regulatory requirements, safety, and compliance.
