Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 per year

hirify.global develops in-space transportation vehicles that provide access beyond Low Earth Orbit, including orbital transport and payload delivery to lunar and planetary orbits.

What you will do

  • Lead responsible engineers developing the Helios Kick Stage vehicle.
  • Direct the design of pressurized weldment structures, integrated subsystems, payload accommodations, separation systems, and related vehicle components.
  • Define product improvement and upgrade roadmaps with partner teams, leadership, and business development.
  • Architect engineering processes for development, testing, sustainment, and production ramp.
  • Drive component test campaigns and work across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to deliver a reliable, high-performing vehicle.
  • Own technical development while contributing as an individual engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or producing space vehicles.
  • Demonstrated results developing, testing, and flying spacecraft or launch vehicles as a technical individual contributor.
  • Expert technical knowledge in primary or secondary structures, mechanisms, pressure systems, or related cryogenic pressurized space-vehicle disciplines.
  • Professional experience managing and growing an engineering team.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in lead roles in space vehicle development or production.
  • Technical ownership of major space-vehicle or launch-vehicle systems through conceptualization, trades, design, analysis, test, build, integration, and flight operations.
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
