Senior Manager, Digital Manufacturing Systems (MES, AI & Industry 4.0)

Location: Hybrid, based in Wilmington, Delaware, or other listed sites including Cheonan and Hsinchu; approximately 20–30% travel

What you will do

• Define and execute the global MES strategy, ISA-95-aligned architecture, digital-thread vision, and Industry 4.0 transformation roadmap.
• Lead end-to-end delivery across COTS, custom-built, and legacy MES environments, including modernization, DevOps, CI/CD, budgets, risks, and benefits realization.
• Develop and embed AI/ML and GenAI capabilities for yield, throughput, quality, maintenance, scheduling, energy, anomaly detection, dispatching, and root-cause analysis.
• Architect integrations across MES, SAP S/4HANA, PLM, QMS, LIMS, WMS, SCADA/DCS/PLC, historians, APC/FDC, and EDA systems.
• Build and lead globally distributed teams and multi-vendor ecosystems while partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Security, and Data & AI stakeholders.
• Ensure OT cybersecurity, AI governance, business continuity, disaster recovery, and 24×7 resilience for shop-floor-critical systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of manufacturing IT/OT experience with significant MES delivery experience in semiconductor, electronics, or similarly complex industries.
• Experience deploying or modernizing MES across multiple sites, including both greenfield and legacy-modernization programs.
• Experience with leading MES platforms, custom applications, cloud platforms, containers, Kafka, MQTT Sparkplug B, and modern integration patterns.
• Knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, SECS/GEM, OPC UA, APC/FDC, R2R, recipe management, dispatching, genealogy, traceability, and SAP integration.
• Experience introducing AI/ML or GenAI into manufacturing operations, with familiarity with MLOps, agentic workflows, RAG, and human-in-the-loop design.
• Fluent English required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required; strong Agile/SAFe leadership, commercial acumen, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor, advanced packaging, or specialty-materials manufacturing flows.
• PMP, SAFe, TOGAF, ISA-95, ISA/IEC 62443, AI/ML, or cloud-AI certifications.
• Experience with operator copilots, agentic AI assistants, digital-thread or digital-twin programs, and low-code platforms.
• Exposure to GxP, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, SEMI, MESA, or OPC Foundation initiatives.
