Senior Staff Program Manager, MES Custom Software Development Transformation (MES)

Location: Hybrid in South San Francisco, California or Wilsonville, Oregon, USA

Base salary: $233,000–$271,000 USD per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the strategic transformation and replatforming of the Manufacturing Execution System.
• Build and maintain an integrated program roadmap covering timelines, scope, resources, and milestones.
• Coordinate Technology, Manufacturing Operations, R&D, Quality, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Manage budgets, project expenditures, resource allocation, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Drive organizational change management and adoption during the transition from legacy platforms.
• Identify technical, operational, and integration risks while enforcing quality, compliance, and validation practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience improving business processes, particularly in manufacturing, life sciences, engineering, or operations.
• At least 5 years of project or program management experience leading cross-functional custom software development teams.
• Strong expertise in Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum, SAFe, or PMI-ACP practices.
• Hands-on understanding of the custom software development lifecycle, modern software architecture, and business transformation frameworks.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and manufacturing requirements analysis skills.

Nice to have

• Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist certification.
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or advanced discrete manufacturing.
• Knowledge of shop-floor manufacturing processes, SCADA/PLC integration, and ISA-95 standards.
