Senior Mechanical Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and document mechanical components and systems, including framing, mounting, cable routing, system layouts, and cryogenics.
• Create CAD models, GD&T drawings, bills of materials, production drawings, assembly instructions, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to align requirements and evaluate design options.
• Lead design reviews and own mechanical engineering projects or work packages from concept through production.
• Assemble initial prototype hardware to validate fit, function, and system integration.
• Improve mechanical design methods, engineering standards, documentation practices, and development processes while supporting colleagues technically.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing industrial or commercial products.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault or similar CAD and PDM tools.
• Strong experience in mechanical design, CAD modelling, technical documentation, and production-ready component development.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, structural analysis, and Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Experience managing engineering documentation, design changes, regulatory compliance, and technical projects from concept to production.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryogenic, vacuum, or microwave technologies.
• Experience developing precision hardware for scientific instrumentation, semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or other highly regulated environments.
