Research Analyst - Public Policy (Energy Policy)

What you will do

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research supporting policy reviews, advocacy, and strategy development.
• Collect, clean, and analyze household survey, energy access, trade, and investment datasets.
• Apply GIS and geospatial analysis to assess market opportunities, customer distribution, infrastructure gaps, and policy impacts.
• Prepare briefs, reports, presentations, and visualizations for senior management, policymakers, and external stakeholders.
• Track energy, trade, industrialization, and sustainable development policy developments and provide recommendations.
• Support high-level government, MDB, DFI, and development-partner meetings with background research and talking points.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, HND, or Master’s degree in economics, public policy, development studies, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in research, policy analysis, consulting, or a related role.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including experience with socioeconomic research.
• Proficiency in Stata, R, Python, or equivalent data analysis tools.
• Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS, or equivalent GIS platforms, plus spatial analysis and data visualization.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with household survey design, sampling methods, and econometric modeling.
• Experience working in or with emerging markets, especially Africa.
• Knowledge of energy access, renewable energy, trade, industrialization, and development finance.
• French or Portuguese language skills.
